I was fascinated by the juxtaposition of the wheel and swing and the border of the classic Paris rooftops. Because of the perspective the spinning swing soars into the air when the image is turned 90 degrees, conveying the sense of this in real life. In landscape the swing teeters at 45 degrees as though its falling over.

To me at that time, choosing the climb meant embracing freedom, unlocking views that make the Rock of Gibraltar truly extraordinary. This image was taken in Lisbon awaiting the regular trolley service through the city. I loved the light on the front of the trolley and the slight light on the tracks. The conductor was looking straight down toward me so it was a great capture!
